College of Education

The College of Education at the UMSL is one of Missouri's largest preparers of educators and a nationally-recognized hub for education innovation. We are implementing proven strategies for preparing educators to address the region’s most pressing educational challenges. These challenges include: high quality educators who can make a difference in students’ lives; highly motivated, transformational educational leaders; professionals who are actively seeking spaces to generate new ideas to improve and innovate; and special education and mental health professionals who can work in teams providing needed services for socio-emotional health.

Through our groundbreaking teacher preparation program, our proven Leadership for Innovation and Design certification and Master’s degree program, our nationally-ranked counseling and family therapy programs, and our professional development programming offered through the ED Collabitat, we are enacting systemic change in the St. Louis education landscape. We provide the region with innovative education and engaged educators.
