School of Social Work

The School of Social Work prepares professional social work practitioners and scholars who understand, respect and effectively serve the diversity of the St. Louis region and beyond. Its graduates are committed to evidence-based practice and to social change in the service of social justice. The School's dynamic faculty and doctoral students engage in innovative research to advance knowledge about culturally competent and effective practice, preventing or ameliorating social problems, and achieving greater social justice. The school was recently recognized nationally by the U.S. News & World Report for its top notch graduate program in social work.

From study abroad programs to Social Work Student Association monthly projects, the school provides opportunities that enhance the academic experience in addition to providing much-needed community service. These enrichment opportunities are often funded through annual and scholarship support from alumni and friends.
